Autism – are we a cultural minority?

We sometimes feel like aliens on a planet where we are a minority. Keeping up with the neurotypical majority can be a frustrating and exhausting task. We look at how it feels to be in this world.

Dwarfism and the ethics of Humour

Why is it that people who are shorter than the ‘average’ person, people born with a variety of conditions under the medical banner of ‘dwarfism’ are so often seen as the butt of the joke, an easy target to make fun of. These issues are discussed by a panel consisting of people from Academia through to Cabaret to Podcasting and Disability Equality Consultancy.

Discrimination2

Racism exists even within the Deaf community, there is a cultural divide that still lingers and separates Deaf people by the colour of their skin. The older generation know this only too well. Now, there exists an opportunity to educate younger Deaf people in being more culturally curious and willing to mix, because it’s already a small community and there’s no reason to separate it any further.

Host: Jonny Cotsen

Guests: Rinkoo Barpaga, Maral Mamaghanizedeth
