Disability Wales Survey: Raising the Cap on Social Care Costs

Disability Wales have created a survey on Welsh Government proposals to raise the weekly maximum for for non-residential adult social care. They are asking for responses so that their consultation response can be led by the views and experiences of disabled people across Wales.

From Disability Wales:

“The Welsh Government is proposing to raise the cap on social care charging from £100 a week to £120 a week. Disability Wales is firm in our belief that social care should be free for all and are concerned whether this increase, which is predominantly affects disabled people, is appropriate course of action during a cost-of-living crisis which has disproportionately impacted disabled people. Our report Barely Surviving: The Impact of the Cost-of-Living Crisis on Disabled People in Wales demonstrated the severe impact that rising costs have had on disabled people in Wales, including no longer being able to afford their social care.”
