Amdani! Conwy: Access and Inclusion Training

Join Amdani! Conwy's free online Access and Inclusion Training led by Rachel Stelmach from Disability Arts Cymru.


Thursday 12 September, 2 - 5 pm on Zoom.



Participants will be invited to learn about The Social Model of Disability and develop ways of working to include disabled, d/Deaf and neurodivergent collaborators, volunteers and audiences.


The contents of this session includes:

  • Introduction to Access and Inclusion

  • The Social Model of Disability and the meaning of ‘disability’

  • Language and terminology (Both good, bad and the questionable)

  • Accessibility and Inclusion 101 - The Equality Act 2010

  • Action Points to take away


This is a free event which is open to organisations, freelancers and volunteers. A downloadable Access and Inclusion manual is given to all participants on completion.


Access


This event will be held online over zoom and request access to a computer and wifi.

Parts of this session will invite you to interact with the trainer and other participants. You will not be forced to participate if you’re not comfortable.


In this session, you will hear terms and language which are both negative and positive. These words can be triggering, but are used strictly for training purposes.

There will be regular breaks throughout this session.
