Are you a filmmaker, animator, or visual storyteller based in the Rhondda or just down the road? We want to put your work on the big screen!


As part of this year’s Rhondda Arts Festival, we are hosting dedicated film screenings on Friday 10th July (Between 10:00 am & 2:00 pm - to celebrate the amazing talent right here on our doorstep. Whether you’ve made a gripping short drama, a brilliant documentary, a music video, or a stunning piece of animation, we would love to see it.


What We’re Looking For:


The Local Touch: Filmmakers, directors, writers, or crew who live in or are local to the Rhondda — or films that were shot right here in the area.

Any Genre Welcomed: Fiction, animation, experimental, music videos, or anything in between. If you made it, we want to see it!

Keep it Short: We prefer short films under 20 minutes so we can showcase as many local creators as possible.

Format: Digital submissions only, please (MP4 format is perfect).

How to Send Us Your Work:


Deadline: Friday, 19th June 2026

Drop Us an Email: Send a message over to Info@raft.cymru with the subject line: “Festival Film Submission - including Your Name & Film Title”.

Please include these quick details in your email:


Your name and a bit about your connection to the local area.

A link to watch your film (Vimeo, YouTube, or a WeTransfer link work great — just don't forget the password if it's private!).

A short summary of what your film is about (under 150 words).

The total running time.

A Quick Note on Fees: It is completely free to submit your work. We are all about giving local voices a platform and sharing your stories with a live audience.
