We’re excited to invite you to a special Touch Tour of Lewis Prosser’s exhibition of woven basket costumes. This event is all about touching, exploring, and playing with the baskets in a fun and friendly way!
What to Expect:
Guided Tour: Lewis will show you around the exhibition and talk about the baskets. You’ll be able to explore them in a fun and hands-on way.
Try On & Mini Procession: You’ll get to try on the basket costumes and then take part in a mini procession outside, walking around the dock area while wearing the baskets.
Weaving Activities: If you would like a quieter space, there will be a room where you can enjoy weaving at your own pace.
Important Notes:
Please bring a woolly hat to wear to keep your hair safe from the baskets during the procession.
There will be staff present to help and make sure you feel comfortable.
These sessions are designed to be supportive and accessible. If you usually have support in day-to-day activities or when attending workshops, please bring a support person with you. The artist and assistant will be there to guide the group, but they may not be able to provide one-on-one support for all participants.
