AmCam x DMC 2027: Open call-out for short community music documentaries
The AmCam digital film festival returns with a special music edition to celebrate Welsh Language Music Day on February 5th, 2027!
Am, PYST, and the Welsh Government’s Welsh Language Division are partnering to offer £500 each towards four short documentaries about Welsh-language music at a community level. This follows four previous rounds of the digital film festival, which have commissioned 16 community films to date. You can watch all the films on Am now, including those from last year’s Welsh Language Music Day edition: ‘Swn Mach’ by Lowri Page, ‘AD-DREFNU’ by Lleucu Elisa Jenkins, ‘Croeso Y Diwylliant Vol.1’ by fruib0y, and ‘Garlleg’ by Kieron Shand.
Alun Llwyd, Chief Executive of PYST Cyf, says:
“Am is delighted to partner once again with Welsh Language Music Day on a special edition of AmCam. Grassroots activity is absolutely vital to the wider music industry, and we hope this will be a fantastic opportunity to document and celebrate all the exceptional Welsh-language music being released as a result of that activity.”
Applications are open now and the closing date is October 28. The guidelines are available here and the application form is available here. The films will be broadcast on Am on Welsh Language Music Day; February 5th, 2027.
