Routes of Resistance: Disability Justice, Transport and Creative Survival

What happens when access to culture depends on access to movement?
For many disabled people, transport is not simply about travel. It determines whether we can access work, perform, collaborate, attend events, sustain creative careers and participate in cultural life. Lack of accessible public transport, inaccessible taxis, limited rural connections, unsafe travel experiences, and services ending before events finish can all become barriers to artistic participation.
Alongside discussion, contributors Grace Quantock, Yanti Hashim, Mars Saude and Heledd Bianchi will share creative responses including poetry, spoken word, music, film, photography or short performances that explore themes of movement, exclusion, access and belonging.
