Arts Council of Wales is inviting applications for its Edinburgh Bursary 2026 programme, supporting individual artists and creative professionals from Wales to attend the world-renowned Edinburgh Festival Fringe this August.

The Edinburgh Festival Fringe is the world’s largest arts festival and an important platform for developing international connections, exploring future collaborations and showcasing work to programmers and industry professionals from across the UK and beyond.

The bursary programme supports recipients to attend networking and Fringe Connect events, workshops and performances during the festival, while also helping them build new relationships and gain insight into international presenting and touring opportunities.

The call-out follows the recent announcement of the four productions selected for the Cymru Wales in Edinburgh 2026 showcase programme, which supports Welsh and Wales-based artists to present tour-ready work at the Festival Fringe.

To help maximise the impact of the programme, Sherman Theatre will provide advice and support to bursary recipients before and during their time in Edinburgh. Arts Council of Wales will also work with partners including the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society and the British Council to identify relevant networking opportunities and events.

It is anticipated that up to 6–8 bursaries will be awarded.

Successful applicants will attend the Edinburgh Festival Fringe between 20–27 August 2026 as part of a small Welsh delegation.

The deadline to apply is 1pm on 16 June 2026.
