DAC Artist TanOren has created 'Quirky Chirky' as part of Navigating through Time, A World Heritage Site Art Project by the Canal & River Trust and funded through the Wrexham UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

TanOren drew and painted each of the main landmarks in Chirk on watercolour paper before arranging them into a collage. You can see TanOren's artwork on the 27th September at the Parish Hall, Chirk. The artwork will also be added to the Navigating Through Time website, where clicking each of the buildings will take you to a memory.

Navigating Through Time will take place as a free family festival at the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and Canal World Heritage Site on 27th and 28th of September. Following the success of The Bridge That Connects in 2024, this year’s event continues to share and celebrate the rich history of Chirk, Trevor, Froncysyllte and Cefn Mawr through creativity, storytelling and community experiences.

TanOren has also written an article about her Painting and Collage of the Ladies of Llangollen 'The Power of Two' for Cynfas.

"Everyone who lives in the surrounding area of Llangollen knows about the Two Ladies who lived at Plas Newydd – Sarah Ponsonby and Lady Eleanor Butler.

My own connection to these Ladies started with my Northern Irish Nain (grandmother) who landed in Llangollen in 1947 and never left. Even though I lived 5 miles away in Chirk, during the summer I would be dropped off for an excruciating ‘holiday with Nanna Susie’."
