Schools and Colleges Liaison Officer

The Schools and College’s Liaison Officer will work with schools and Further Education colleges, particularly across Wales and Southwest England. You will support our work to raise awareness of higher education opportunities through targeted intervention projects, promoting the benefits of studying music and drama to local and national communities.
Under the leadership of the Student Recruitment Manager (UK), you will provide information, advice and guidance to students, parents, carers and influencers You will build, manage, maintain and develop strong relationships with teachers and advisors in schools, colleges and other key partners. In addition to supporting a range of activities and events for prospective students in community settings, you will also support the delivery of workshops and events for schools, colleges and youth groups which take place on campus.
You will promote the College’s training offer to prospective students and key influencers and support the production of marketing materials to promote student recruitment work and other engagement activity in schools and colleges. In liaison with the Advancement Team, you will support the maintenance of a comprehensive database of contacts and interactions with young people within our CRM software. You will also work in collaboration with the Open RWCMD department to build relationships in local settings, so they are ready for outreach activity participation.

Head of Scenic Realisation

The National Conservatoire of Wales is seeking a dynamic and experienced practitioner to lead the Scenic Realisation Studios. The role will report to the Director of Drama and will be supported by, and take occasional directions from, the Head of Production.
The post holder will be a member of the Drama leadership team and, with the Director of Drama, will be responsible for providing a sustainable and flourishing training environment at our Scenic Realisation Studios in Llanishen, in which students can develop their craft and artistry. They will support the Course Leaders based in Llanishen to create opportunities for students to build technical excellence, challenge them to be curious and collaborative, and support meaningful engagement with the wider community and profession.
The successful applicant will bring substantial professional experience in scenic realisation, with a passion for developing the next generation of makers and theatre practitioners. They will have experience of teaching and/or training, alongside line management and leadership experience, enabling them to support the College’s ambition for its scenic realisation work to reflect and inform cutting-edge professional practice.
Under the direction of the Director of Drama and Head of Production, they will lead and develop a team of highly skilled tutors and practitioners based at our Llanishen campus and support the course leaders to contribute to curriculum development and production activity. They will work collaboratively with colleagues across the College and with professional partners to support and enhance the College’s reputation for pioneering, immersive professional education in music, design and drama.
The successful candidate will advocate for and promote the College’s vision and values. The majority of the post holder’s time will be based at the Scenic Realisation Studios in Llanishen with additional work taking place across the North Road and Old Library campuses, as well as at external venues as required.
